There are two main types of toxic mold testing normally done: air and swab.
Toxic Mold Non-Viable Air Testing
We collect the particles in one cubic meter of your breathable air and send it to an environmental lab for analysis. This kind of testing can tell us if your contents need professional mold cleaning. The results, along with the onsite inspection and photos, is assembled into a usable report. This report should be used to get an accurate quote from your chosen specialty contractor. We always recommend getting three quotes. Using your report will help all chosen contractors bid on the same amount of work
Non-viable mold air sampling is the accepted standard method for determining if a mold problem exists This method is also used for mold verification (clearance) after mold remediation.
A minimum of two air samples must be taken; an outside baseline and an indoor sample. The comparison tells whether there is a mold problem.
This is more involved and each project has different factors that influence our final recommendations.
Tape Lift or Swab Testing
Yes, we do other types of mold testing including mold species determination.
