A mold status or survey report will identify your exposure and the water intrusions that are causing the mold growth, how much and where the mold growth needs to be removed.
We begin by looking at the entire area, inside and out. Areas of possible or probable mold growth are identified. A physical inspection of the inside and outside of all buildings is done and areas of probable mold growth identified.
A testing strategy to determine what kind of mold and how much toxic mold there is, will be discussed before any testing begins.
A few days later (or earlier if needed) the lab results are back and we have a conversation usually by phone. We will discuss your toxic mold exposure, We then send out our initial findings with recommendations and the lab results. This is primarily done by email
If there is a mold problem our report will tell you what caused the problem and general mold remediation instructions. Mold cleanup should be done by licensed, trained, and insured professionals. Always get three quotes. Show them your report. See a few Bay Area companies here.
We welcome your questions during this process. We are here to help! Every project is unique. The better you understand all the phases of mold remediation and final clearance testing, the better decisions you can make.
We never discuss your project with anyone else without your written permission. If you do have a problem, we welcome a conversation or two with your chosen contractor, doctor, attorney, or best friend.
Post Mold Remediation Report (Verification or Clearing)
A post mold remediation clearing report will confirm or deny that all the toxic mold spores are gone.
This testing is should be performed before any reconstruction begins. The floor in the photo shown was the source of the mold problem, not the walls, ceilings, or doors.
Mold verification (clearance) testing is done before rebuilding begins. This way if elevated levels of toxic mold spores are still present, we don’t have to remove sheet rock to fix the problem. The containment should remain in place. If the containment is removed before successful mold verification, there is a possibility the entire area will become contamination and additional cleaning/mold remediation is necessary. This clearance document may be needed by a mortgage company or real estate required disclosures when the property is transferred. If the people living in the building has health challenges from mold, then it is critical the mold verification testing be performed by a seasoned professional.
